Dos Gatos Flores

This Modern Farm House sits on eighty beautiful acres in Baroda, Michigan known for its rolling hills and award-winning wineries. Our first meeting with the clients was at their individual homes in Chicago. They both owned a lot of classic modern furniture from Knoll, Platner, Ligne Roset, B+B Italia, and Dialogica and we needed to elegantly bring them together in their new country estate. The clients wanted the interior to have some modern elements combined with earthy warm materials befitting their more rural surroundings. Inspiration was found in the panoramic landscape and the old barn (we used some salvaged pieces). Concrete surfaces, rich walnut stains, hand-blown glass fixtures, large slabs of tile, Neolith counters, and a hood in the kitchen all combine to create a rich and warm interior. A large feature in the home is the raw steel Neolith fireplace surround. It is an anchor and focal point to the main living space.
